Before actually starting this journal, I should introduce myself. My name is Ayah and I plan on majoring in computer engineering or computer science. Aside from school, I love learning new things. I recently bought a pair of roller skates and have been practicing in hopes of getting good at roller skating. Some other things I enjoy include learning about new cultures, baking, fashion, listening to music in different languages, and reading.

So far, I’m really enjoying this class. I was nervous before the semester began since this is a writing class, which is something I don’t really enjoy doing. It’s only been a few weeks, but for someone who dislikes writing, the assigned work is actually helping me enjoy doing the work. I like how creative each assignment is, it really gets me thinking. I also like reading my classmate’s responses and feedback as it helps broaden my perspective.

One of my favorite assignments was when we had to pick the most important skill from a list and come up with a scenario where the skill would come in handy. I chose problem-solving since it can be used in almost every scenario. If you don’t know how to identify a problem, it will never be solved.

Currently, I am working on a technical description paper. The object I chose was the Nintendo Switch. I loved using the Wii U as a child so when the Nintendo Switch was released, I was really excited. I was shocked by the flexibility of the console. It doesn’t have to be connected to a television, the remote can be used as two remotes, some games don’t even require internet connection, etc. I look forward to writing more about it in my description.
